Audioslave: Doesn't Remind Me

Music can move in different ways. Music can present us with a story. Watch a movie, a video, a clip... turn the volume on mute. Add Chris Cornell's voice along with Audioslave's musical accompaniment and you have moving sequence of sound and vision so grand it rivals that of drinking nector out of Zeus' mouth. Damnit, Sorry, James Lipton just hacked my blog.

I loved the song when I bought the album. Now I found the video "Doesn't Remind Me".
I think it's just great, to put it simply. A clear message that I'm sure will be taken many ways, while you get lost in the lyrics as you follow a boy living his life while his father is away.

You can't link directly to the video, so here are 2 links to Audioslaves front page:
Click on "Doesn't Remind Me".

"JINGLE ALL THE WAY"

So I've started working out. It's been a while, and it's going to take a lot of work to get back into condition. Wed. my brother and I stopped into the new Gold's Gym in town. I had no interest, just along for the ride. Before I knew it I was signed up. Today was my first day. I focused just on my chest area when we lifted. Mostly working on the bench press. I don't feel any burn because I can't feel my arms at all. I can't feel myself typing right now either. I then did the elliptical for about 15 minutes. I hadn't felt like this since I began lifting in High School; the feeling of vomit just about to come out of you for working out to hard or if it's your first time in a while. MMMMM.

I think when ever you start something, like working out, you paint a picture of what you will be like in a few months or a year. Who knows. If I keep it up, the next time you see me you might run for cover, screaming SASQUASH has come out of the woods! Run!! Or if I follow Arnold's path I'll be govenor of MN in no time.

SA > Pay Pal

Pay Pal recently screwed over SomethingAwful.com. SA raised over $30,000 for relief aid for the New Orleans area. Apparently Pay Pal pulled the rug right from underneath them and froze their account with out notice.

Go to SomethingAwful.com for the full story. You can still donate to the fund when you purchase T-Shirts and stuff.

I guess I'm never using Pay Pal again, screw you e-bay.

Robert

St. Cloud, the Steans County seat, granite country some might say. If you have ever been to St. Cloud, (the mecca of Central Minnesota) you have probably visited it for the following reasons:

Number One: You probably had your finger or arm sucked into the combine at the farm and had to be air lifted to the St. Cloud Hospital.

Number Two: You needed supplies and decided Hwy 23 (Division St.) was the best route to take into the city along with everybody else in the tri-county area creating a long strip of road, with gaudy architecture resembling what hell would probably look like if it emerged on earth.

Number Three: You attend or visited St. Cloud State University. One of a couple public Universities in Minnesota, SCSU has a lot to offer for those looking for expanding there education among many other experiences.

Those are the Three main reasons to visit St. Cloud, MN. In addition to reason number three, SCSU, you can now visit the Robert H. Wick Science Building on the Campus of SCSU. The name on the building is synonymous with my own last name. My Grandpa, Robert Wick, was honored today with the re-dedication of the Math and Science Building to the Robert H. Wick Science Building.

Robert served as President at SCSU during the 60's and early 70's, a very crazy time in American Culture. Culture and Family aside, I am very proud of him and feel very honored for our whole family for this dedication. It really means a lot to me and especially of course to my Grandpa. I tend to make a lot of jokes about the city of St.Cloud and SCSU in general. In all seriousness though, I love St. Cloud and SCSU. It has given me so much in my life and especially in the last couple of years of attending SCSU. My main support though and reason for being in St. Cloud is my family and especially my Grandpa and Grandma Wick. I don't know where I would be if It wasn't for them, especially if they had never met, then my dad wouldn't of been born and I would cease to exist.... we'll save that paradox for another day.

Side note: I'll be in St.Cloud Fri. night and Sat. if anyone's around give me a call.
