James Bond Casting Update #897: Hugh Jackman says no

Dark Horizons and Moviehole are reporting that Hugh Jackman has been offered the role of James Bond, but has declined. There are three theories as to why Jackson might have said no:


The three picture deal the studio wanted to sign him to would leave little time for other projects.
Jackman -- a singing-dancing-acting sometime Broadway star -- doesn't want to get typecast as 007.
His wife wouldn't let him.
At this point, these reasons are simply not good enough. Please, Hugh -- please, reconsider. I don't care who plays James Bond, but for the love of God -- somebody take the freaking role already. This has gone on long enough.
