Spin magazine named Radiohead's "OK Computer" the top album of the past 20 years

I've enjoyed some songs off "OK Computer", but I wouldn't call it revolutionary nor my favorite album in the past 20 years. These articles are fun to read once they come out, and as usual the only people who will agree will be the devout fans of the artist. It was funny because at the end of the article, the art staff @ Spin threw a tantrum because they left out some of my favorite band of all time, the Red Hot Chili Peppers material. - Article Link

I'm trying to figure out how The Joshua Tree wasn't one of the top 100 albums in the past 20 years.

I know you love your U2. Spin is almost if not as superficial as Rollingstone.

I think it's worse than Rolling Stone. I think that Spin tries to make it seem like they are more "hip" and "indy" than Rolling Stone, but they're just as likely to whore themselves out for publicity as Rolling Stone is. They say that their criteria is"the basic brilliance of the record, its innovation and its overall relevance" I am a huge U2 fan, so I'm a little biased towards the Joshua Tree; but how can they basically say that at least 100 albums were more innovative, relevent and brilliant than the Joshua Tree? How can they justify The Strokes - Is This It as a more relevant album? How can the Yeah Yeah Yeahs be on the list? Le Tigre?, How do they put Tricky's Maxinquaye on the list and the best trip hop album ever Massive Attack's Blue Lines is not on the list? The Breeders? They had 1 hit song! How can Kanye West be rated above Eric B. & Rakim - Paid In Full? How come Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness isn't on there? PJ Harvey at #9? I like PJ Harvey, but#9? I gonna quit bitching now, Spin magazine sucks!

Maybe this list was supposed to come out in 2008... and since Joshua Tree was recorded in 1987, it's obviously not going to be on there.

Yes, we're all biased in our favorite bands and albums (please see my site for an example) but calling OK Computer (a great album) the #1 album is so cliche that I want to puke.

Seriously, magazines are dumb, and they cater to what some businesses call the "lowest common demoninator" but I call "complete morons." The only way to find a decent top "whatever number" list of albums, movies, artists, books, left-handed drummers, or diabetic squirrels is to make it yourself.

So there.

Spin is not even worth getting for free.
